28 weeks, 1 day

Had our 28 week appointment today which included the glucose tolerance test and I have to say that that sugary drink I've heard so much about wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I was so scared I wasn't going to be able to gulp it down in the five minutes they give you to do so, but I got it down within a minute like a champ. The last couple drinks were getting pretty disgusting but it was over before I knew it. Checked the heartbeat and it was 148. Everything's looking good. There was some protein in my urine from the swelling but my blood pressure was just fine so the doc was none too concerned. Oh and then he proceeded to tell me that I'm chubby. He looked at me and said, "Um, you know you've gained 12 pounds since your last appointment?". And I said, "Are you sure?" and he said, "Well, unless there's a different way of doing math, then yes, I'm sure." 12 pounds!!!! 12 pounds!!! Ridiculous. Wait, let's talk about that some more, that's 12 pounds in 4 1/2 weeks. Wow. Oh well, nothing I can do about it now I suppose. That makes 28 pounds total. Well, enough of the weight talk. We are now up to 2 week appointments. The end is getting closer and closer. It will be here before we know it.

I can't believe how far along you are already. Time really is going so quickly.

I enjoyed your doctors comment about there being another way to do math. :)

Just stay healthy-- you're almost there and soon you'll have your little girl with you!

First of all I'm so glad your appt went so well and the doc wasn't concerned about the swelling.
2nd I've decided that a large amount of the weight you put on is from these following things changing in your body...
1. Your baby is growing
2. The swelling, that has to add more pounds right? :) I say that is definitely the cause of the weight gain. lol I mean it makes lots of sense right? :)
3. Regular healthy weight gain from pregnancy.

That's what we can guess is the weight gain, See your just great:).
I'm so excited for you guys, your almost there!!!!

I just got back from my appointment and I gained 10 pounds in a little less than a month! Amazing!

You still look gorgeous AND lots of it is water weight, right? ;-) That's what I keep telling myself. LOL. I do hate the swollen feet though! i cut back on the sodium (goodbye occasional french fries) and use a salt substite for cooking which really seems to be helping. i REALLY, REALLY don't want to have a 10lb baby girl like my sister had earlier this spring! Think petite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just had my glucose test this week too, and totally agree with you-it was easy. These girls need to "put their big girl panties on" and stop complaining!

And, I think you're doing just fine with your weight. Don't worry about!

That has to be quite the shock to hear about the 12 lbs! I think you look beautiful though and am so excited to think your little one is getting closer and closer to being in your arms!

This is my first time on your blog. Congrats on your baby girl. Before you know it, she will be in your arms and you won't realize how fast the time went by. Cherish each pregnant moment, even if it's not the prettiest or most comfortable. You will get through it and have the best gift in the world, the gift of life!!
